What is titanium-copper alloy?
First, let's learn about titanium. Titanium is a new type of metal, and its properties are related to the content of impurities such as carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, and oxygen it contains. The purest iodized titanium has an impurity content of no more than 0.1%, but it has low strength and high plasticity. The properties of 99.5% industrial pure titanium are as follows: density ρ = 4.5 g/cm³, melting point of 1725°C, thermal conductivity λ = 15.24 W/(m·K), tensile strength σb = 539 MPa, elongation δ = 25%, reduction of area ψ = 25%, modulus of elasticity E = 1.078 × 10⁵ MPa, and hardness HB195.
Titanium alloys are primarily used to manufacture compressor components for aircraft engines, followed by structural parts for rockets, missiles, and high-speed aircraft. In the mid-1960s, titanium and its alloys began to be applied in general industries, such as electrodes for electrolysis industries, condensers for power stations, heaters for petroleum refining and seawater desalination, and environmental pollution control devices. Titanium and its alloys have become a type of corrosion-resistant structural material. Additionally, they are used in the production of hydrogen storage materials and shape memory alloys.

Titanium-copper alloy generally refers to a copper alloy with copper as the base element and titanium content ranging from 2.9% to 3.5%. It is a highly reliable and high-performance copper alloy, especially during the alloy manufacturing process, where its properties are enhanced through heat treatment. Titanium-copper alloy exhibits high strength, high elasticity, excellent heat resistance, fatigue resistance, and good bending properties.
Titanium-copper finds its widest and largest application in the electrical and electronics industries, accounting for more than half of the total consumption. It is used in the manufacture of various cables and wires, motors and transformers, switches, and printed circuit boards. In the mechanical and transportation vehicle manufacturing sectors, it is used to produce industrial valves and fittings, instruments, sliding bearings, molds, heat exchangers, and pumps, among others.
